Chiropractic Treatment
Chiropractic is from Greek words meaning done by hand. It is one of the largest primary-contact health care professions in Canada. Chiropractic is a non-invasive, hands-on health care discipline that focuses on the neuromusculoskeletal system.
Chiropractors practice a manual approach, providing diagnosis, treatment and preventative care for disorders related to the spine, pelvis, nervous system and joints.
They are specialists in using manipulations of joints to improve range of motion, flexibility, and to restore proper function. Chiropractic treatment is one of the most popular alternative therapies currently available and is covered by many insurance plans.
Chiropractors use a combination of treatments, all of which are predicated on the specific needs of the individual patient. After taking a complete history and diagnosing a patient, a chiropractor can develop and carry out a comprehensive treatment/management plan, recommend therapeutic exercise and other non-invasive therapies, and provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counselling.
Physiotherapy
Our team of physiotherapists provide time limited, goal orientated programs to facilitate a return to pre-injury levels. Programs will be tailored to individual patients. Treatment may include physical therapy, such as massage, manipulation. therapeutic exercises, cold, heat (including shortwave and microwave diathermy, TENS, Ultra sound, IFC etc..), and active rehabilitation.
We also provide in home treatments in the Greater Toronto Area.
Massage Therapy
Whether your need is to have a moment of relaxation, reduce muscle tension or attain relief from chronic pain, a therapeutic massage can enhance your overall sense of emotional and physical well-being as well as your quality of life. Massage Therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage therapy helps alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions. All of our massage therapist’s are registered and work as part of the multidisciplinary team.
Psychological Assessment and Therapy
Custom made foot orthotics are hand-crafted insoles made out of the highest quality material and worn inside your shoe. They are individually designed to relieve foot, ankle, knee hip and/or lower back pain. By altering the position of your foot, they can limit themovement in your unstable foot joints and provide support to excessively stressed areas. This redistribution of pressure through the kinetic chain has proven to have a positive effect on knees, hips and lower back.

Progressive Rehab Clinic provides access to a variety of healthcare professionals including chiropodists. Chiropodists are a hybrid of sorts that combine two different practice areas, namely podiatry and chiropractic care.
Chiropodists are considered primary health care providers, with a primary focus on conditions related to the foot, ankles, and lower extremities. They are also considered specialists, due to their primary healthcare focus.
The objective of chiropodists is to access, diagnose, treat, and educate patients about various conditions relating to the feet, ankles, toes, knees, legs, hips, and back. Chiropodists tend to take a non-invasive approach to treatments, but can also use surgical methods when necessary.
Chronic Pain Management
Chronic pain develops gradually and is complex in its causes which affect all parts of the body; it involves the tissues, bodily systems, and the mind. The journey down a path to daily suffering and loss often starts with a simple injury and cascades innocently downward with continued pain, imperfect healing, medical complications and failures, loss of job, loss of financial support, loss of friends, and depression.
Shockwave Therapy
Progressive Rehab Clinic offers shockwave therapy for patients requiring this form of treatment. Shockwave therapy is where short, high intensity and frequent bursts of shockwaves are released into the affected soft-tissue areas that are inflamed, scarred, injured, painful, or contain adhesions.
Graston Technique
The Graston Technique is a type of manual therapy that utilizes specialized instruments to gently scrape or massage the skin. The therapy is practiced by physicians, chiropractors, physical therapists, licensed massage therapists, occupational therapists, and athletic trainers to break up painful scar tissue and restore mobility to soft tissues. Research suggests that the therapy can improve success rates for patients with acute and chronic pain caused by soft-tissue injuries.
